There are two different engine choices for the Hyundai Sonata. The first, which is available on the SE and SEL Sport, is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 191 horsepower and 181 pound-feet of torque. It's connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission and earns up to an EPA-estimated 28/38/32 MPG (City/Highway/Combined).1
The second engine is found exclusively on the high-performance Sonata N Line. It's a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 290 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque, which is stronger than most other midsize sedans. It's also very fuel efficient, returning up to an EPA-estimated 23/32/27 MPG (City/Highway/Combined).1
